66 days and 6 hours. It's the time i've spend on Ebay searching for another Saints Row item. I was crestfallen. I was... until I found something which would definitly change my life. It was the "never released Saints Row game" I could never dream of. The text explained Volition expected it to be on NintendoDS until the project got canceled while available on this alpha copy. Strangely, I was the only bidder and owned it for 5$.
Now I was in-game.
Sadly, it was just a map looking at Stilwater. No missions were available. Just me and my character. I decided to visit the city in case I find something interesting.
In the Purgatory, I found stairs leading to a dark basement. My screen looked creepy. But I was more curious than scared. So I stepped forward but suddenly felt a hand pushing my back. I thought I would fall from the sofa but fell down the stairs.
I was inside the game...
Scared as hell, I hurried to find a way to switch on the light. Neon lights flickered. There were pieces of pedestrians all around me, and a desk with a message on it.
"Here are your murders. Prepare to pay the price."
And then heard running footsteps above my head. I went up the stairs and realized something was different. The Saint Of All Saint statue was gone. I would probably thought it was a bug if I wasn't stuck inside the cursed game. Something was also moving all around me, laughing with a MIDI voice like in retro games. And then, I suddenly faced Shaundi, Pierce and the Boss staring at me with weird red eyes. I was trapped. They walked like zombies towards me until I got surrounded. I couldn't escape. I crumpled on the floor while pairs of arms squeezed me like a lemon. I couldn't breathe anymore. I closed my eyes while they were crushing my limbs.
Once it ended, i noticed I was in the middle of the stairs, incapable of feeling my body. I couldn't move. It was like if i was dead.
The Boss and Shaundi were acting a scene until I figured out what happened to me : I had become the Saint Of All Saint's soul.
Next time you'll see an easter egg, just wonder about what happened and if you are safe. Because i'm watching you.
